Common
questions.

Answers to the questions we hear most from builders, GCs, and homeowners before starting a project with us.

Do you work directly with general contractors on commercial bids?

+

Yes — working with GCs is our primary model on commercial projects. We can provide detailed sub-bids, coordinate directly with your project manager, and integrate into your scheduling and documentation processes. We're set up to be a reliable, low-friction sub on large builds.

What areas of Utah do you service?

+

We're based in Kaysville and work throughout the Wasatch Front and beyond, including Davis, Weber, Salt Lake, Utah, and Summit counties. For larger commercial projects we travel statewide. Contact us for project-specific coverage questions.

How do you handle scheduling and communication during a project?

+

Every project has a dedicated point of contact on our team. We provide a clear project schedule before starting and send updates at major milestones. You'll have direct phone and text access — not a call center. We respond to job site issues same day.

Do you install EV chargers for both residential and commercial?

+

Yes. On the residential side we install Level 2 chargers and dedicated circuits during new construction or as a service upgrade. For commercial, we design and install full EV charging infrastructure including multi-bay stations, load management systems, and utility coordination for high-amperage installs.

Are you licensed and insured in Utah?

+

Yes. Upgrade Electric holds a Utah E-200 General Electrical Contractor license through DOPL. Our qualifying Master Electrician is licensed through the state and oversees all work. We carry general liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage — certificates available on request.

Do you handle permits and inspections?

+

Yes, permit pulling and coordination with local inspectors is included in our scope. We prepare all necessary documentation and are present for inspections. We work to pass first inspection on every project.

What is your typical project timeline for a custom home?

+

It depends on the size and complexity of the home, but for a typical custom home we rough-in in coordination with framing and complete trim within the final two weeks before certificate of occupancy. We'll provide a phase-by-phase schedule tailored to your build timeline during the bid process.
